    Racing Seat

Has anyone installed a different seat or a racing seat in their Marauder?

I run several auto cross events each year and the Marauder seat doesn't work very well.

Wondering of anyone has installed a different seat with better bolstering. Maybe from a Mustang? It would be nice to keep the power seat option.

I might look for a harness. I saw a guy with a Schroth setup that clipped into the rear seat belts and the existing front seat belts.

Huh, I never had a problem with the factory seat. You guys need to eat more ice cream and potato chips.

While not a racing seat, my all time favorite seats are the ones in my SHO. Fully power adjustable including lumbar and the best part: side bolsters. The switches are on the seat and requires only power and ground run underneath. I like them so much there's 2 extra sets upstairs in the garage for future projects. Fyi, first gen(89-91) had taller bolsters.

That would add extra weight to the car.

When I get ready for my run, I power the seat all the way back. Then I buckle the seat belt and pull it as tight across my lap with my right hand. Then with my left hand, I give a quick pull to lock the belt. Then I power the seat forward which keeps the belt tight and that helps me stay in the seat. I still slide around when running the course.

I had a '99 SHO and the seats felt like a firm hold from the hands of angels...
