    Rear shocks

One of my rear shocks is wet....Anyone on this site recommend sticking with Ford OEM replacements or should I get another brand?

I went with recommendations here and got the KYB, I believe the model was 555603. However I ordered them from RockAuto and haven’t installed them yet, so based on my experience with RA figure it’s 50/50 that they sent me the right part.

I also ordered a couple of parts kits for like $10 that were recommended, I gather they’re bushings or something, but haven’t checked them out. I have to get in there and see what’s up. I recall that they are slightly redundant, but someone suggested they would help.

The OEM Tokico shocks were discontinued years ago. If Ford has a listing they are probably CV or GM shocks. Not sure if CVPI shocks would work if there is a listing. KYB or Monroe severe service seems like what most go with now.

I just installed KYB's. Purchased them from Rock Auto and used the mercurymarauder.net discount.

KYB's in back (a tad firmer), Monroe super duty in front.

Make sure you just buy front shocks and use your existing springs. I purchased the entire Monroe strut and the front end sat about 1-1/2" higher. I sold the struts on Craigslist re-purchased KYB front shocks and had a local shop swap out the shocks in my Marauder springs.

I always go with Monroe shocks as my first choice

    Rear shocks

Shows what I know, I was thinking it was recommended / required to do the shocks AND springs in front; does either of you have the part number of just the front Monroe or KYB shocks? Thanks.
