Best way to remove paint/clearcoat from ABS plastic w/out damage.

Painting my car in the spring and bought a second hood which I am putting a scoop and possibly vents on to see how I like it. The scoop I bought is ABS and factory painted silver. As title reads, I am looking for recommendations on effective ways to remove factory clearcoat and paint from abs plastic without damage. I plan on assembling/fabricating the hood w/ a friends help to then have painted w/ my car in the spring. Any helpful advice is appreciated, thanks!

I've been looking online, and it seems like there is no easy way to strip it, other than sanding/filling/bodywork. Still curious if any other methods work

Just scuff it up and shoot. Why strip it?
