    Curious about tranny behavior......

I've owned an 09 CVPI and an 07 Grand Marquis and I realize that my new old 03 Marauder is a totally different beast. It appears to be in pretty damn good shape, and considering everything else on the car I'm guessing there's a decent chance the car was treated pretty well. Everything OEM with now 81,000 miles. If I've got the throttle about 75% it will act like it's about to shift at 3000 RPMs in 2nd or 3rd (possibly both), it'll hold at 3000 for a second, keeping going then shift. Tranny fluid level is good. Doesn't really seem to be weird anywhere else. Just wondering if this is usual behavior for the 4R70W transmission?

If it has stock tuning, then the shift schedule is terrible, it regularly gets to OD and lock up, then downshift, back to OD etc. Get a tune from MOs speed shop in vendor section. Most of us have tunes by them now. The tune changes the shifting and lock up. Leaves car in powerband

Thanks to Marty O for his help in updating this car.

I believe that this is the "hunting" (for gear) behavior found in our stock tune and trannys. A MartyO tune will take that right out and give much more positive shifting.

No problem. Put 410s in it and it will feel like a different car.
