The gray fuel hose that runs between the 2 metal fuel rails on my 03 MM

    Hey Guys,
There is a grey fuel line that runs behind the lower intake manifold and connects the 2 metallic fuel rails.
I had to grind off a small corner part of that lower intake in order to get the cooling mod connectors for the rear of the block to fit.
I was lazy and didnt remove the fuel rails from the intake manifold while I did the grinding in the driveway on the manifold.
I nicked the grey fuel line with the grinder - putting a very small cut in the line...it's not through, and its not deep, but it is worrisome to me.

    see below photos

    So...
Anyone have an idea if that hose can be replaced?

How to get it off, and how to get a new one, and how to get that new one on?

Any other ideas to eliminate the idea of that line leaking with a hot engine in the immediate proximity?

Does the Crown Vic and or GrandMarquis and or Mustang use the same config?

    Thanks
    -KK

I've never removed that hose, but if there is a barb underneath it you could remove it and replace with fuel injection rated hose and use crimp clamps. If you wanted to replace the whole fuel rail assembly, you need one from a Marauder.
You "feel" the difference because you want to "feel" the difference. Since you just spent money on the upgrade you "have" to feel the difference

I'm looking to eliminate the double pump process I have to follow right now to get the pedal hard

Blowing up the pic it appears to have 3-4 barbs. I’d just do what was already mentioned and move on.

    fuel line nick.jpgfuel_line_barb.jpg

You can see the nick on the left and the barbed fitting (?) on the right.
Crimp clamp & proper hose still the right approach ?

    Thanks guys

Damn, you and me work the same. Did my cooling mod last week and did the same thing. So far not leaks or anything, but like you it is on my mind it got nicked. I was going to see if any members have a fuel rail, I am sure there are some out there

    Nick,

I will go the fuel injector hose and crimps fix as suggested by Blazen above :-)

Gonna be a while before start-up though, so be patient if you can.

I’ll check my stock tomorrow. I think I still have my original rails and an almost new Aeromotive set in red.
