has anyone installed a clock on a non clock car

why does the clock wiring have 6 wires.......I would have thought a clock was just a power and ground. Originally I thought all cars would have the same wiring harness but I pulled off my dash bezel and no wiring. I removed my climate control and dont see anything hanging back there. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Im going tomorrow morning to see if I can cut the wiring out of a grand marquis at the junk yard.
    thanks,
    Tony

As I have found out you only need 2 wires, power and ground. The others have to do with headlights on. Aux on. Etc. there is a link in here to crown Vic with explanation. Also look for the other link for what each wire does.

To wire as factory you need

    Ground
    Constant 12v power
    Switched 12v power
    Illumination power
