    Mark VIII Eaton Swap

Read through the sticky on the Eaton swap for Marauder.
I have a 96 Mark VIII, going to rebuild with forged internals. I have an 03 Cobra Eaton SC, lower intake, intercooler, and 01 C heads. Appears I have to swap the front cover but not completely sure on that?

If i am correct, the Maruader and Mach 1 use a reverse flow water pump and the Mark VIII uses a standard flow pump. That is what has me stumped. What do I do about the water pump??? It looks like the pumps are very different from everything I can find. Doe's anyone know the answer to this??

Jerry suggested I ask Zach, but cant PM him.

If you follow your accesory belt routing, you will find your water pump turns counterclockwise, like ours.

I took a picture of my Mark VIII and the belt is definetly installed opposite of the Maurader/Mach I. What I missed was that the belt also comes off the other side of the crank! it was late, what can I say!

Still trying to figure out if the water pump is physically different between the two and if i have to swap it out?

I think the heads are different on your car also? Different hood?

It rotates the same as the Marauder, counterclockwise. It is the same base Motorcraft exchange part number between 03/04 Marauder and your 96 Lincoln Mark VIII.

I have 96 Mark VIII, O1 C heads and 03 Eaton set up.
Not in a Mark, going in a 62 Fairlane.

Does anyone have the locations where the custom tensioner and alternator brackets actaully bolt up to on the Marauder? Could you note them on the attached file?

The Mark VIII water pump is longer. The difference is in the pulley. the Mark VIII pulley is flush with the front of the pump. The Marauder sits proud of the front. Wondering if the Marauder/Mach 1 pump is better? Other than that, the stock Mark VIII water pump and pulley should work just fine.

What does anyone think of the "high performance" Edelbrock water pumps? The run over $100 more than stock.

Hi Sparky, I recognize you from Modfords. Welcome. I'm running an Evans water pump and I really like it, although they are expensive. Lots of people like the Stewart water pumps though, they flow better than stock.

Hmmmm... Interesting. OEM crossover part numbers aren't accurate? Anyway, the Stewarts are nice: STEWART 50046S (short), STEWART 50046L (long).

Next dumb question. Is there any difference in 39 lb injectors from the 03/04 cobra and the Ford Racing versions I see like these:

    Is it the EV6 connector?

Yes, those are EV6, but, since those are used and not the same as 39# 03/04 cobra injectors, just buy a set of 39# injectors for the same price.

    Hey sparky,
Buddy of mine is running 38lb injectors that are EV-1 and they came from Vortech. We both have our eyes out but you might want to try looking in that direction maybe.

    Lower Intake Clearance

Moving on to the Intake fitment. I see in the Marauder swap sticky that the Knock sensor has been ground down.
Here is a picture of the Mark VIII valley.
It looks like the "tab" next to the knock sesnor is also in the way. Anyone know if that can be safely ground down?
What do I do with the knock sensors after the bung is ground down??
