What would cause this fuse to blow?

Last night my instrument cluster lights, the lights for the EATC, gear shift selector went dark. Today realized that my marker/parking lights (front and rear) didn't come on when i turned the headlights on even though they flash when I used turn signal and hazards and rear lights worked when brake applied.

Did some troubleshooting using the fuse box diagram I have bookmarked in my favorites and looked at 15a minifuse in pos #23 (good), then the 15a minifuse in pos #21 (blown). The fuse box diagram shows this fuse is for:

LCM for park lamps and interior illumination, Autolamp/Sunload sensor

I replaced the blown fuse with a new one and everything works like it should. What would cause this fuse to blow? Is it possible I may have a chaffed wire bundle somewhere and this will happen again?

Edit to add: That fuse has blown before because the one I took out was different (a slightly darker blue and clearer) than the Bussmanns that are already in place. I don't remember replacing it, but it has been done before which is why I made this post to see if there's something else I need to look at/for.

I've had that fuse blow under the dash that controls the lcm. I thought it was the lcm til I replaced that fuse and all was good. I guess it just happens with time.

I believe that fuse is also for the lights for the vanity mirrors. The wire that powers the vanity mirror lights runs up the inside A pillar and is prone to wearing / breaking where it comes through by the pivot. Check that wire.
