stearing wheel lock ?

My stearing wheel does't lock do you know if it should .
My gm locks but the shifter is on the colum .
If one of you could try turning your wheel i would be most greatful.

The newer cars are strange in that they feel like there is a lot of play still in the wheel. However, there are points in it that a slight tug to one side is needed just to turn the key. If you are able to man handle (and not like that...) the wheel to the point you can see the wheels turn, then your steering wheel assembly needs to be fixed.
