    Dealer Repairs, . .

A small list of how my L/M Dealer repaired a few issues with my MM:

1.) Concern: Air ride compressor loud and vibrates
Correction: Remove for access to install insulators under com. Air cleaner assembly, remove for access to repair compressor bracket.

2.) Concern: Left rear speaker rattles at half volume, can hear it from outside the vehicle
Correction: Remove rear seat , qtr trim panel and package tray to insulate and tig.

3.) Concern: Has rough idle when cold.
    Correction: EEC (Quick Test) Diagnosis.
Extra time to repeat final quick test.
    Relative compression/power balance - Test
    Ignition system - diagnosis.
    DCL display - test
    **Unable to verify concern.**

4.) Concern: Oil pressure gage has condensation behind glass.
Correction: Access and replace oil pressure gage. 3W3Z-9G272-AA.

They were kind enough to keep my MM in the service area while they had the car.

BTW, you might get a survey for your repairs.
    (#6178 in black per FPIC)
Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:
    Alex "Marauderboi" Vachon 3/2/92-8/13/10
    Paula Babineau 1/9/67-8/2/11
    Rex Weinbender
    Peter

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

I have already received a phone call from the dealer wanting to know if I was satisfied.

    Question, . .
The receipts for the service work states: "Stock # 000M0447.
    Production: 051704.
What does the stock # represent. Can I assume that the prod. # is date manufactured (Born date)?

    Thanks,
    Mike.

Did they keep the car overnight?
If not than they would not note or find the rough when cold problem.
But they should have installed the latest programming in the Computer anyway, your car is not blazing any new ground with that problem.

    Overnight? ? ?

They had my MM from Thursday late afternoon until the following Monday afternoon. Can't say for certain it is still acting up. However it does run choppy as always until operating temp. is met.

    Thanks.

That's NOT part of the survey.
When you get the survey from FORD they will ask you on the survey
if the dealer called you to see if your repairs were satisfactory.

The OEM oil pressure gauge is a fake. Haven't you noticed how it always reads the EXACT SAME pressure under all operating conditions? That's because it's a glorified idiot light, specially designed by AutoMeter to Ford's specs to LOOK like a real gauge, but to always read approximately mid-scale as long as you have at least 6½ lbs of oil pressure.

AutoMeter makes an almost identical replacement that DOES work...p/n 4327, available at Summit and Jeg's for about $55...it's about a 1 hour job to replace the gauge unit and sender (included in the kit). And, no, you can't replace just the gauge or just the sender...you need to do both.

Wasn't sure if they were going to replace the gage as the condensation wasn't present when I took it in. The service manager remembered me when I picked up the car new and saw the condensation 2 months ago.
Another excuse on why I didn't replace it was "brain fart"!

"Extra time...Quick test" must be why the dealership kept the car over the weekend.

The standard test takes a full week...

Wow, thanks RF. I didn't know that. I thought I just had really consistent pressure! LOL! How lame of Ford! Ok, I think I'll go for the digital gauge set-up Gordon has.
Thanks for bringing me up to speed.
