    I noticed this ebay listing...

This is the one with the nice big valves!

Plane the heads to restore decent compression and you could have a very hot motor!

I wish that I had found one of these whole instead of just the heads - I'd have an even stonger 460 in my 76 Ranchero GT.

    Regards,

    David

That would make me nervous..... NEW doesn't = REBUILT in my book. No telling how good a job was done on the rebuild or what shape the motor was in before it was rebuilt.

    Just an opinion mind you...

If you go a bit farther down in the ad, the description states that it is rebuilt.

In the subtitle, it states, never started. But in the payment instructions and return policy, it says, runs great.

Maybe this guy is also a bridge salesman in his spare time.

    cheers,

I was thinking the same. Rebuilt doesn't = new.

Boy, some folks never pass up an opportunity for an arguement.

I posted this because these engines, even one to be rebuilt are getting rare. A good chance for those with post-1971 460's to get some HP and a free-flowing version of this engine. According to the seller, the bent up valve cover has been replaced with another one since the picture was taken. In any case, it should be obvious from the picture that this engine couldn't possibly be new.

These PI 460's had heavier castings, better cranks, and of course, those great PI heads.

On a lighter note, I sometimes can't resist a good arguement too. Sometimes it's downright fun.

    Best Regards,

    David

I like the 460. I have a special one in my Bronco. It makes my friends Mustang GT hide in the corner and cry. I think it would beat up on my Marauder too. at least up to 85 or 90 mph. I don't know, can't drive both at the same time.
