    Carbon Fiber Radiator Cover Installed!

    Here's what it looks like:

    and from the other side:

I'll have to do a better job on my next version of the carbon fiber airbox, it just doesn't compare to this.

I didn't drill out the mounting holes, but they were a bit tight. I did use rubber washers on top and bottom of the mounting hardware, in addition to rubber pads in a couple of places that rattled slightly.

Sorry, can't see it too good without removing the battery or going to the parts store to see a new one. Here is the little wedge shaped hod-down that the MM uses, the Optima doesn't have the lip at the bottom for it to clamp onto so the Optima comes with some little plastic pieces that snap into the battery that aligh with the hold-down.

I don't get what I'm looking at? The Crown Vics have a J-bolt (long threaded rod) with a top hold-down.

What did the Marauders use for the standard batteries?

I don't have the 04-up FSM so I have no idea how it's attached.

So you're saying the 04-up Panthers don't have top hold down brackets at all? Smart move... but I wonder how secure it is? What holds the front part of the Optima battery?

The front edge slides under a lip in the battery box. The rear lip is held in place by the little wedge piece. The technique has been used a long time, as my '88 MkVII used the same method. I'm surprised the panther just changed in '03.
