    S/C Marauder....

Probably thinks it's "super-charged" because you
have to use "super" Hi-test gasoline..........

    Arrow my .02

I made the call. It is a regular MM with 12k & the CD changer. It has a rebuilt salvage title (clear in NJ that can be clean in FL), an OASIS report that showed no work done,a build date of 6/4/02, a start date of 3/15/04 but the rest of the warranty cancelled by Ford.

Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

Here in Illinois, we have a dozen reasons a "salvage" title is issued, it doesn't always mean "bad car." Automobiles get salvage titles from body damage, fire damage, water damage, insurance "totaled" claims, and all the customary mechanical complications. But, automobiles also get a salvage title when seized by law enforcement for gun, tint, and sound violations, as well as private mechanic's lein and when reposessed. These automobiles are available only to licensed used car dealers by auction, but they get salvage titles.

Considering the risk involved here, 16K seems high, but it doesn't look too risky. After all, the car is on public display, and with two of the four MM wheels visible. For the right price, this MM may be worth checking out if you're into rebuilding, and have resources. Want to have some fun? I'd take this risk, for 10-12K, can anyone spell "pro street"?

    Theft Recovery?

Does Illinois issue salvage title for theft recovery vehicles? Is it possible the car was stolen and found after the insurance company cut a check? -kjs-

I would stay away from it if it was flood damaged. The value is greatly decreased with a salvage title. The info that made it salvage is available. I think your insurance company may has access to it.
