After driving 7914 miles or some such dumb number like that, we were within 50 miles of getting home after a month and a half on the road and one of New Jerseys' finest dump trucks introduced it's load to my windshield. Following spring I paid 280 I believe to replace it with OEM. I can't remember which company I used, but I told them what I wanted and they got it. It wasn't a big deal at all.

I see new is $280. LOL these windshields are thin. In 6500 miles and 2 1/2 years my Marauder is on it's third windshield.

I hope the windshield on my '03 never gets broken. I did take a good hit from a rock, but the chip it made is very small and hard to spot, and did not crack the glass.

Isn't it true that the '03 windshields with the black strip at the top are not available any more?

    Thanks,

    Norm

Mine was replaced by Safelite, 179.44 installed including tax.

It's an exact replacement for the 2003.

Just an FYI, Safelite is not an exact replacement. 9 times out of 10 they use chinese glass. It may look the same to you but the install was probably pretty shoty. They get paid by the job not the hour.

Many people don't know that you can request "carlite" brand through aftermarket glass companys. This is the exact replacement to whats in the car. Brands like "ppg", "lof", "fy" are all aftermarket brands, but carlie is a oem replacement. It comes with the ford oval right in the stamp on the windshield. All the marauders came with a 3rd visor (black band at the top) on a tinted windshield, but you can opt for the blue shaded band at the top if you want. Both are still available. This is alot cheaper than going to your local dealer and ordering dealer glass!! Hope this helps!!

Full coverage insurance will cover a windshield without any deductible or rise in rates.

Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

It may not raise your rates but it is a claim. Some companies will drop you if you have too many claims.

We all use the same size windshield and same thickness. The only difference from a 04' CV per say(or marauder) to a 00' CV is that the new ones have a black frit in the top middle of the windshield called a third visor and we lost the blue shade at the top. Even though our cars don't come with a blue shade, you can still buy a carlite with a blue shade to replace your cracked windshield. It definetely helps with the
