Interest in PHP Cold Air Kit

Paul, quit making the PHP cold air kit for the Marauder, I bought every kit he had, and I have sold every one, I like this kit I like the looks of it and the power gains I got from it, now there are several other kits available, I have not tried them, because as I said I like to looks and fit of Paul's, you the members can look at these kits if you so desire, I am not here to start a cold air kit war, and if it starts to turn into one I will just let this go and delete the post. Now if there are enough interest in this PHP kit I will buy these in bulk this is very hard to do for a small business, but I will do this for the club if there is enough to justify this type of investment, here is a picture of it and I will post the dyno links before and after, this kit just like the other two can be used with the Trilogy SC as well.

I used my N/A Marauder, and I did a base run of 249.4 RWHP and 261.3 RWT

    http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinharta...kitbaserun.jpg

Next I installed Pauls kit. I made no timing or AF Corrections, with the install of the kit the car gained 6.8 RWHP and 8.5 RWT Now look at the AF Below.

    http://web.iwebcenters.com/reinharta...aulsairkit.jpg

What happened is with Pauls kit the AF went richer by about 8% this is caused by a slight change in the air meter transfer function, this is no big deal so I leaned the car out by 8% added NO timing and the car gained, 12.3 RWHP and 15.7 RWT

So the kit does work and make a good power,

Here are some better pictures of the PHP kit. This stainless steel cover with some metal Polish really looks sharp of course its been a day or two since I last did mine.

    Here is the JLT kit

    And here is the K&N

I bought my PHP air box directly from Dennis, installed at his shop and documented with before and after dyno runs. Peak results are modest, results under the curve are huge, specially torque. I highly recommended.Dyno_Results

do you need computer tuning after installing it, or will ti work fine without tuning on a stock 04

Any time you change the induction system on most cars there is a chance of changing the Mas air flow transfer function, in the PHP case it can make the car rich but not by much, about 8% this can easily be fixed if this is the case. No matter who's CAK you use there can be these issues

I like the PHP kit what I may try to do is make a complete kit from Throttle body to the PHP CAK, again this is a substantial investment, and its going to be dependent on demand, what you have to understand is to buy any thing at a reasonable price means you have to buy in quantify, so I can make a reasonable profit, without having to have a very high price on this product, so again I am looking at starting this but its going to depend on the interest here.
