    Google Maps

Has anybody else seen this feature ??? Drill on down to the location you want and alternate between map and satellite views. Double click on a point to recenter. Pretty neat stuff.

I saw Mike's thread but it mentioned "downloading software". I didn't have to download anything.

It's worth downloading!! Seamless control and tracking. Save where you've looked. Selective overlays such as lodging, places of interest, route numbers, directions, 3D buildings. I spent hours with it when I first downloaded it. Very cool!!

Yeah google earth is amazing. I can look at my house and tell that the picture was taken on a weekday by what cars are visible.

Rest area, rest home -- what difference does it make? I'm sure Grandma enjoyed seeing all those big trucks pulling in and out.

Um, you'd better go out and look, Hack. Perhaps they've brought it back.

That's the problem when Titles don't portray the subject of the thread....new threads get started.

Darn, Hack, the last time I saw your boat, it was in your front yard at Christmas.

    Is that cool, or what?

Since we're in a rural area, everything's fuzzed out, so I can't send a picture of our place.

Google worked an agreement with ORBIMAGE (I do believe). They have acquired 15 METER imagery of the world with higher resolution imagery where available. The enclosed URL lists the 1 and 2 foot resolution imagery that they have available in the US. Have fun, I have all of my hunting spots found and noted with this stuff...it's GREAT!
