    Marauder VT update

Welp talked to VT they got the engine torn down. Cause of the break... extreme abuse. Said it looked like to was over spooled often and held like that often. They said they can probably gimmie an idea of the chain of events, but at this point I could care less. So the result? Gonna bore it some all new forged internals.
The interesting part is I saw this car when it first went on sale for 56k or something like that... car was sold to me as 9k miles been run granted, but not abused... I am still thinking on what to do, I know I'll fix the motor. It's just upsetting that you can't trust people these days anymore

Oh and Lidio expect a call from me before too long, a month or so maybe. Jim (I hope I understood his accent over the phone right) at VT said to take the car up to you when it's done. Car should be done after the weekend of the 21st, so I'll give you a call.

Once you get past the disappointment of buying a car someone beat and left for dead... you will be very pleased with how YOU have built the car !

You do the right things and you will have a hard running car and you can control how much you make it sweat !

    That's the running plan.
On a related note strangely enough, 285 rear tire is about as wide as a 19x9 will take right? (I run 13" wheels on my mini so 19 is way outta my normal procedure)

Tire manufacturers publish charts showing acceptable wheel widths. Pick a tire and look for the chart to find out. For example, here's the chart for BFG KD's

    http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/asset...orce_ta_kd.pdf

The middle column on page 2 shows acceptable wheel widths.

Question: Seeing as the dealer co owner was the one essentially who was talking to me about the car, and passed it off as practically brand new 9k miles "had followed te car though it's building and knew the car well". I am thinking he knew the extent of the abuse... so here is my thing... what are the chances that they would atleast wave the charge to pull and put in the motor.
I'll pay VT for the rebuild, Jim was really nice and is even not charging me to overbore...
but the owner guy at the dealer needs a kick, the way he sold the car was def not right, especially since he knows what the car went through (from his own words).
The way I see it is it's reasonable to say that he knew what was up with the car, if he had been forth comming I wouldn't of bought it... I dunno if reasonable assumption applies... I wish i ws further along in my degree.
So anyone out there ever had an experience even similar, cuz the dealer is not in for parts or anything, just puttin the motor in and out...

Hmmmm, in Texas I would call that any one or more of the following:
    negligent misrepresentation
    intentional misrepresentation
    fraud
    deceptive trade practices

let me drink a beer and i'll come up with even more.
That is, assuming that the dealer knew the car had been beaten.

Yeah when the builders from VT came to check out the sound, the co owner of the dealership said "well I mean 9000 miles on a car that has been run like this on is like 90,000"... when a week before when he sold me the car he was telling me how it was "practically new" and how he knew the car in and out... but I have kept quiet because I wanted the builders at VT to crack it open and see if it was detination or what, cuz I know that gas stations lie sometimes... but now that VT is sure it was excesive abuse, I feel I really should speak up, it's really not right I don't think. Bought her in june-july... it's now november and I only drove it four days...

Well, first approach the dealer with what VT told you and see what they say. If they refuse any responsibility, you'll probably have to go to court. You will have to 1) Prove it was abuse that damaged the engine, 2) Prove it was abused prior to you taking ownership, and 3) Prove the dealer knew and voluntarily withheld the info. The first is somewhat easy. You will need to either get VT to come to trial with you or at least sign an afidavid (sp?). The other two are really hard to prove and it will likely come down to your word against theirs. Livernois Motorsports in Dearborn Heights damaged my engine on their dyno. I got a lawyer involved and told me about the same thing. I couldn't get any proof or anyone to testify. So, I had to drop my case. Good luck.
