    Verify Correct Part Number

Just wanted to verify that Magnaflow P/N 93333 is the correct X-pipe for the MM. Will be mated to Ford Racing headers P/N M9430-E465. Will also be going with Magnaflow 14326 mufflers ($75.00 ea w/ my son's Advance Auto Parts discount). And I think I'll get the resonator delete tips to finish it off.

Ummm...The M-9430-E465 "hi-flow shorty header" in the 2006 FRP catalogue has a foot note. "1...Does not fit 2003 and up", and Marauder have "2003 and up" Cobra heads. This FRP caution is prolly due to the header tube being round, when our exhaust ports are (in Ford's words) "D" shaped?

Your headers are at the top of page 49, but look at the M-9448-A464 gasket just below them? This is prolly why the "Cobra manifolds" produce more power than "shorty headers", which has been proven here.

OTOH...sounds like you're on your decided path, so, enjoy.

SergntMac, here is a picture of the header. I wouldn't call these "D" shaped but they aren't round either. Looks oval.

Yes, they do look correct...So, I wonder why the footnote?

    Think I found it...

On page 87, a complete listing of the FRP products. Your part number is for 1996-02 DOHC Cobra, with a foot note "8-4.6L does not fit exhaust flange".

If this means the exhaust port at the head, take caution. If this means the flange mating to the OEM exhaust pipe, no problem because you're replacing that with a new exhaust pipe, high flow cats and X pipe, right?

DR's kit uses '03-04 Cobra manifolds, correct? Then the 93335 Magnaflow x pipe with cats. Or am I wrong?

I believe so, but I'm using the Ford Racing tube headers. DR's kit uses the actual Cobra manifolds which are not headers(?).

Another question - On what side of the x pipe does the 4" extension go?

Sorry I just had a few questions. I have been going through previous posts about headers and I just want to make sure I understand this. 96-02 FMS shorty headers will fit on our car if we get the appropriate x pipe for those headers then add 4 inches. Also 03-04 cobra stock headers (manifolds) work also, when coupled with an x-pipe for those headers that also has 4 inches? What about Mach-1 headers stock or shorties, will aftermarket 03-04 ones work? For the 96-02 do they have to be FMS, will BBK or Mac or anyone else who makes shorties for those work? Again sorry for the thread jack.
