    SSM Members near Lakeland??

Got a posting in the plant for 3 openings at the Lakeland HVC(parts depot). Peaked my interest.... So how's the cost of living especially price of housing and such. Don't know if I would get it as there are 10 plants signing for 3 positions and I only have 10yrs @ Ford.

    .

    Shoot,
Go for it. You'd be right between Central Florida and the Tampa Bay areas. 30 minutes to Orlando or Tampa from Lakeland. Housing prices are low comparatively. Property prices are going up and continue to be a good investment. No state income tax and relatively low property taxes. Of course the weather sucks*, but hey, you can't have everything.

    Best luck,

    J

Jake is right on the money. Throw away the snow shovel, grab your shorts and suntan lotion, your golf clubs and your sunglasses and come on down. You will be able to roller skate to MVIV, too. Dennis ps: IT IS A STRAIGHT SHOT DOWN I-75. Half the people in Florida are from Michigan including my father-in-law. One neighbor has his driveway painted in honor of the Steelers.
GOD bless my friends, Paula, Cheese(Rex) and Alex and all those still with us.

It may get cold there, but it will not snow. If it does, it will be in the record books.

BTW, can you post pics of this driveway???

Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:

    Paula Babineau 1/9/67-8/2/11

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

Too many unknow variables in relation to the move. Plus as I said before 10 plants signing up for 3 positions,I just don't have the seniority. Oh Well, I'll still be down for MVIV.
