    I'm Getting 4:30s. Am I Crazy?

I see where the vast majority of MM owners go with 4:10s. I think I've got room for 4:30s. Am I crazy or what? I don't do alot of freeway driving and my gas is free, from my employment. So yesterday I ordered 4:30s and a SCT X-Cal2. In a couple of pay periods, I'll be getting a PI 3000 converter and call it a day. Anybody think I'll regret 4:30s?

I've had 4:30's for a couple years now, no problem at all, highway rpm is up a couple hundred , i really can't tell that much difference between these, and the 4:10's. Carfixer did the install for me.

Maybe if you lived in ND or OK or TX, but with little or no long distance highway driving you will be fine.

    just my humble opinion.

You might want to talk to marauderman, he went from 4.30's back to 4.10's.

Yes I did--and they are for sell--only a 1k miles on them--low price too--they were not the problem--I was --meaning the gears were more than what I felt the car needed--plus, they were a bit more rpms that I didn't feel I needed with my 3K TC I have now --earlier--I had the 410 I did not have the 3K TC----now I do---so I get better gas again now with the 410 on the open road and in town---so --its was me --plus I have come to realize that the optimum gear for our cars are the 410s for sure......my thoughts anyway----

Now--who else wants a great set of 430's--?????

No you are not crazy, we all do what we enjoy and we all enjoy different things. The mathematics of the improved mechanical advantage at launch cannot be denied.

I wonder if some of the math wizards among us can calculate the extra amount of rpms an engine will experience in 100,000 miles when using 4.30's vs. 3.55's.

It seems to me the engine will endure millions of extra revolutions with the 4.30's compared to 3.55's in 100,000 miles.....

WOW, just did a little math: An extra 200 rpms for 100 hours are an extra 1,200,000 revolutions.
