    Home from MVIV

The North Texas Marauders were represented by IKO4, James79stang, Vortex, Lilalleykat and PAT with their Marauders and Redster with his Shelby Mustang.

Vortex met up with Pat in Shreveport, who then met up with James79stang in Lafayette, who then met up with Lilalleykat in Pensacola then a four strong convoy to Kissimmee, Fla. IKO4 tried to reach us and came in to the hotel sometime later. Redster also joined us at the hotel.

I led from Shreveport to Pensacola at around 70 MPH then Lilalleykat led us through most of Florida at 85+ (did I say that?)

We all had a great time, everyone was super friendly and helpful. The staff at MVIV had arranged for reserved parking at the hotel so we could look at up to 40 Marauders in a row at any one time.

Drag racing was good, but not many signed up. One member, Greg Gash, let up to 16 people drag his S/C car down the strip.

One member's engine let go during the cruise up to the strip. But anolther member used his trailer to haul the fallen Marauder to the local dealer.

The car show on Saturday was great, got to see some impressive engine mods and stereo mods. Thanks to James79stang for showing me how to shine my car.

Many people at the shows didn't know this model Mercury existed and I was vey proud to explain to them what a truly magnificant car the Mercury Marauder is.

    Pat, good to meet you!
If you don't mind, I'm going to steal your idea of taking a spiral notebook at the next event.
I got so many good ideas, and I'm afraid my little peabrain didn't retain them all!

Hey Pat; glad you made it home safely. I can see that the Louisiana Troopers must rule with an Iron fist. It tends to make one very timid as far as stepping it out speedwise. It was very interesting listening to you guys on the CB when you would see a LEO and we were doing 74mph and you guys would hit the brakes...Im saying WTF to myself musta been abused by there local PD...It was great to get on 75 southbound in Lake City and let our MM's breath... Thanxs for the great company and I would consider it an honor to take the back door of your convoy anyday...AL

Yo Pat, Hope you had a safe and trouble free trip home. It was great meeting you and everyone. Had a great time.
I know that mph # was a slip of the tongue so we won't tell anyone. Hope your TC comes in soon and you get to install it.

    Take care.

    Wink Was it really ME?!

    Hi Pat;

Glad your trip home was un-eventfull....Maruderville 4 took care of that.

My car was the 5P car at the track,
I haven't even let my best friend drive it, so as for 16 ?
I may have made 16 passes, but it was this loose nut behind the wheel.

Just wanted to chime in on what a great time at MMIV. The motorcade to Florida was fun, especially the low level flying we did between Tallahassee and Orlando! It was great to meet other "Marauderers" and I am looking forward to making this an annual trek.

    Thumbs up Back at work

Made it home Monday night and back to work Tues. Had a great time and the Florida group kept up the tradition of great Mvilles with lots of events. Great job!!
Had a good time a Daytona, good weather, great vintage cars on the track and wide open access to everything including the hot pits. A great way to see a magnificent racetrack. Also had a great side trip to Kennedy Space Center with close up views of the launch pads, etc.
It was great fun driving the Shelby for a week. I highly recommend it for someone that wants to add some extra fun to their vacation. It handles super and has plenty of power. You step on the gas then first thing you notice is you are going 80. It is also one car you wouldn't have to modify the exhaust. At WOT it is approaching earplug levels of sound. Too bad I don't have the $$ and garage space to park one.
Thanks again to everyone and it was good to renew friendships from previous Mvilles.

    Texas Marauders,
You guys were all great! I'm elated you had big fun with no mishaps. You can come on down yonder anytime - we'll be here for you and it will be a blast! I'm glad you all made it home safely. Now start getting to work on MVV! I love Texas, it's my favorite state. What a great excuse to drive to Texas! [chanting] MVV - MVV - MVV - MVV [chanting].
