So whats the highest mileage marauder you have heard of still going strong? From what I understand, backed by that all aluminum engine...these cars are very reliable. Help me out here...just trying to justify buying one for a daily driver.

I would say it belong to a member in Ky. and I think it's over 150,000?
The only reason I ask is that I'm getting a lot of crap from friends who say that I should go get an accord or a mercedes. I'm all for the Marauder for a couple of reasons...first, you cannot beat the bada$$ factor of the car. And second, I really do believe that if you take care of these cars, they should last for a while.
With accords, camry's, civics, it's unbelievable how many miles are on these "newer" cars. I'm sorry, but there is no reason why an 05 should have 70k miles. And when it comes to Mercedes, BMW....spoke to mechanic who did agree that they are very reliable cars. However, let's just say the tranny goes out...the price for the tranny alone is in the $20k range, not including installation.
I know I'm coming to a biased site...just looking to get some encouragement so I can get the car that I really want. Not to mention, with the 68 camaro, and the marauder...my garage is going to look pretty good.
There was a 2004 on Ebay a few months ago in NY with 224k.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.
Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.
Rest In Peace:

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.
If the engine is your concern, I formerly had a Mark VIII (almost the same engine as an MM, just an older version), and while mine was relatively low-mileage, plenty of folks on the Lincoln boards have 150K+ on that engine with no problems at all.
i believe paul casey has 130k something on his and iirc he has a yitload of 1/4 passes on his car to boot.....change the oil every 3k,
tranny fluid every 30k........they are no more or less reliable than anything else........i still get thumbs up from lots of people all the time.......i never had a car that got the looks and reactions this car gets........a smart move would be to have roylpita (brian) run an oasis on anything you would be interested in buying....invaluable info...just my .02

My boss went over 100,000 on his and never had anything done to it except a few minor things here and there. Never anything serious. And his car was strong as heck.

Oh yeah...
My 2000 Crown Vic Police Interceptor has 153,000 miles on it - it's my daily driver - and it rides smooth as glass and strong as h3ll. It'll still bark the tires going into second gear, and that's on the original transmission and rear end, too!
I know lots of people who have gone 200,000 to 300,000 on Crown Vics. Just go to www.crownvic.net and you'll see plenty of evidence for this. I also know a local limousine company that regularly goes 250,000 miles on their Town Cars before they sell them off (typically in excellent running condition).
Crown Vics and Town Cars aren't the same as Marauders, obviously, but the technology is very similar and a lot of parts and components (transmissions, differentials, etc.) are identical between the cars.

And yet another thing...
If you want to be like every other guy on the block, go get one of those Accords or Mercedes your friends keep pushing on you. Then you can yawn in comfort as you see your exact same car ten times on your drive to work.
Not only that, but Mercedes Benzes are NOT the quality vehicles they used to be! And have you priced any parts on them lately? Get ready for some serious sticker shock!

I put 188,00 on my '92 GM LS PI prototype--drove it HARD. 115,00 on '95 Ford CV, P&H package, 110,000+ and still going on '99 GMLS, P&H package and 78,000 on my Marauder. The 4.6 l aluminum engine has been very reliable and have had no engine probs with the Marauder. Anyone who has seen me drive knows I treat 'em rough-I plan to buy another Marauder as soon as I get the money together--all my cars were my daily driver--all kinds of weather and road conditions. Get a Maruder--have a reliable, powerful, good-looking, rare (not one of 200,000) , roomy family car that will whup azz . This is my 15th 4-door , big engine Mercury--won't buy anything else. Good luck in your quest, Maury

Mongoose/Charlie in Kentucky posted 136,000 miles back a year and a half ago (28 July 2005). He's likely to be approaching 200K by now.
If you are looking for a high mileage vehicle ... get an F-150 and take care of it. I suspect that most MM owners didn't buy for mileage ... they bought for "smileage" and there are few vehicles that can touch the Marauder in that department.
