    Good News! / Bad News?

    Ok all,

    The Good News - Took a job offer today at the same company to go to work for a friend doing something I like better, know well and best of all....out of management!!!! (No direct reports :-))

    Better news - Comany Car with fuel card!!!!

    The Bad News - In all probability, the Marauder will have to go

    Piece of mind and quality of life are a better thing.

    Anyway, just turned 50K on the odo. Anybody need to add a good daily driver to their collection??

    I would keep the MM as a garage queen. Mod it and drive when you like.
    (#6178 in black per FPIC)
    Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

    MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

    Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:
    Alex "Marauderboi" Vachon 3/2/92-8/13/10
    Paula Babineau 1/9/67-8/2/11
    Rex Weinbender
    Peter

    See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

    IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

    Does not Compute

    Adam;

    Quality of lfe and peace of mind are not, usually, financial issues.

    Your concern that a Marauder will turn into a pumpkin when the odometer reaches a certain point is unreasonable.

    If you WANT the car keep it and enjoy the experience. If you don't love the car any longer, that's OK too.

    But it's not an inherently unreliable or problem plagued car. It's a Marauder.

    I'll try to find a way!!

    Sorry if I confused anyone . I want to keep the car!!!

    If at all possible, I will find a way. However, this has been the worst, most difficult experience in the 14 years with this company!!!

    I took a "promotion" I was coerced into, started bad and has gotten worse since. Oh, the things they don't tell you!! Like, you're the 5th person to have this job in 2 years because no one else wanted it.

    Anyway, I took a small hit on the $$ to get out so not sure the budget can still support the MM habit.

    Time will tell. Can I bring the company car to Chuck's?

    Adam;

    I know your a family man, educated and hard working and time spent with your wife and kids is valuable. So what commodity do you posses that can translate into income, aside from your 8-5, without adversely affecting your family time.

    It's your brain power. Think TUTORING. A no cash outlay enterprise, work at home, set your own hours and rake in the dough. Elementary, high school, college students they all need help. The minimum charge is upwards of $20.00 per hour, depending on locale and demand.

    Just think, Public Schools in America are a shambles, fifty percent of households are single parent, mostly women, who work two jobs or long hours. So who's schooling little Johnny or Suzy?

    My sainted mother, took in students at home for one hour sessons, three times per week. Her student load varied, but she funded her retirement over her last ten working years.

    Dear old Dad took care of the family, in style, but the word "savings" was not in his vocabulary. So Mom tutored and "saved" the bacon.

    Just trying to be helpful here. There are other idea's and opportunities.

    Congratulations on the new position.

    I had a company car for over 25 years. Had no clue how much money that saved until I didn't have one anymore. A company car can offset a huge cut in pay. It also frees you up to decide, with no pressure on you, whether having the MM is still fun and important to you.
