Why Is My MM Is Overheating ???

My car is having two problems at the same time. It runs very hot and the heat doesn't work. What is causing this ???

    Stuck thermostat
Air bubble in the cooling system
    Collapsed lower radiator hose
    Low coolant

    Marauders have had problematic thermostats.
My thermostat was changed at 30,000 miles with an overheating problem.

After you change the thermostat, you'll need to BURP the cooling system.
This can only be done when the engine is COOL,
and you have to add coolant to the ENGINE CROSSOVER pipe
WHILE the Reservoir cap is ON.

Doing both of these will eliminate the problem in most cases.

At OPTIMUM temps, your coolant temp gauge should point
    to 20MPH on your speedometer.

+2 (or 3 or 4...) for the air bubble...follow the "burping" procedure:

    1) remove round metal cap in coolant cross-over pipe
    2) add coolant here (NOT into the degas bottle) until it is full
    3) replace cap loosely (just a turn or 2)
    4) start motor and idle until it gets warm and the cap stops fizzing and burping
    5) tighten cap
    6) when motor cools, add coolant to degas bottle (if necessary) to reach "Full Cold" mark

I just recently had the same problem. I followed the same procedures as described here and the heat came back and it stopped overheating. There was air in the system and the coolant was low. But the real problem that caused these symptoms was a faulty water pump that was leaking. I think this is what caused the air to get in and the coolant to get low. Look for small puddles under the car. I think a few others here also had their waterpumps start leaking. My dealer replaced it under warranty.
