Traded mine in over 3 months ago. Similiar equiptment, 31000 miles, new tires and dealer service just before the trade. I believe he still has it and has reduced the price to 18,800. Hope this helps.

Check www.kbb.com. You can also get a price from CarMax if there is one in your area.

Smile Value is in the eyes of the DEALER

I did a search on Edmunds.com, a car pricing site, and they have a lot of good tips on what the dealer looks at and for. The value of your car may vary from lot to lot with the same brand dealership. Read those tips, may save you not thousands but hundreds of dollars.

Edmunds lists the value of your car by zip code, so there may be a difference between where you live and where I live. Trade in value with the options you listed is $16.1K. Private Party is $17.8K. Dealer retail $19.3K.

It's been my experience that when a dealer gets a mint, stock, car they prep it a little and sell it as a certified used car. In this case $20.6K.

The minimum profit range the dealer looks for is $2.1K to $1.8K.

    Good luck.

I think, also, it's important to consider what you're trading it for.

In other words, if it's a Lincoln Navigator, he's got more money to work with, and he's sitting on an albatross, to boot. On the other hand it's an MK-X, which is selling well, and may not have as much profit, built in, the dealer may not be as generous.

I guess the test here is, are you trading up, or down?

It also depends on the dealer, we got 10 grand for our 03 yukon with 100k miles on it. Some dealers didn't give us that generous offer. Nuts to them

I would try to sell it myself, you will get more money than trading it in, go to autotrader and see what others are asking, I think there are only 50 04 marauders for sale and if yours is mint condition you can get some good money, both of the 04 marauders we have( one is mine, the other is my dads ) we bought it off autotrader and cars.com from individuals, and the experience was better than going to a dealer and haggling, you will be able to sell it, just stick to a reasonable price, remember the dealer might offer you below what blue book is, why do you think everyone is selling there cars on the internet, you keep the profit not the dealer.

Better off to sell it yourself. But nothing else compares so anything else is going backward.

Dumbass! There is no 2008 vehicle I would trade MY Marauder in for. Better yet.... there is no 2008 I would trade title for title. Blue book? Can you replace it? I didn't think so...... Sell it outright for no less than $25,000.

LOL Some of you guys are nuts. There are other cars that do some things better than this car, you know. No American made car that only cost 35k will be perfect.

As mentioned above, Kelly Blue Book >>> http://www.kbb.com is a good place to get an estimate.

Bluerauder - Nice graph. I have been thinking that the curve will flatten out above $10,000 just because this is a niche car with collector value. Has anyone ever graphed the 94-96 Impala resale value to see if reached a plateau, or did it continue to decline similar to other cars?

Charlie, that's a nice graphic, and, most likely, very accurately reflects the market, nationwide.

It appears, though there's a trend for more precipitous fall in price, due, mostly, I'd guess, to high prices for premium fuel. There are many '03's with average mileage 40 - 60K going for $16,000, and under.

Don't forget, also, the asking prices for black ones are an extra premium.
