    Tire size

I have an 03 Explorer with 16x7 rims with 235 70 16 Tires. I think I'm going to upgrade to 17x8 Chrome mustang rims. My question is what tire size will give me the closest size to what I already have? I really do not want to get any bigger maybe a hair wider would be OK.

Going from a 235/70/16 size up to a 17" wheel the best size for you would be 255/60/17.
The overall diameter is almost exact, as is the rotations per mile, and they would be less than an inch wider. I got this info from tirerack.com

Yeah 255/60-17 would work just fine, the overall diameter is exactly the same at 29". Your stock tire revs per mile are 697 and the 255/60-17 is 694 revs per mile so at 60 mph your speedo would read 0.3% slower and you'd be going 60.2 mph.
