Hey guys... I sold my used company vehicle to my Father a few years back and it's a 02 Taurus. A couple of weeks ago it started making a slight squeeling noise similar to an alternator bearing going bad. My Dad had it looked at a local dealership and they said that it is the CAM SENSOR & SYNCRONIZER UNIT. Does anyone know if this is something I can replace in the driveway or if it is something much more difficult that may require experience and proper settings etc. He was quoted $650 for the job and I am trying to determine if I can save him a few bucks. I don't want to F it up more though.
Any experience / advise???
