    Stolen car!

My buddy's 97 T-Bird got stolen from alexandria a couple nights ago. And we believe its in DC now. They used his credit cards at a few gas stations in DC. So if anyone sees a T-Bird that looks like these pics with VA plates please PM or post on here for me.

    Thanks Chris.

    Chris, Thanks for posting this.

Here is some more information on the car.

    17” Chrome wheels
VA Tags YKU-9772 (tags may have been removed or changed)
Sticker on the back window with a large thunderbird logo and the words
Mid Atlantic MN12 (this may have also been removed)
Here is the VIN # 1FALP62W2VH144788

The credit card was used at a BP station on Florida Ave and at another BP station closer to the border with MD.

Here's a couple more pics. The back window had a big sticker so that may still be there(doubt it) but some residue may be left.

Damn that sucks, if it was making it's way into DC it is probably headed into Prince Georges Co. or Montgomery Co. where a lot of stolen vehicles are found.

PM me with your vin and info and I'll pass it along to one of my friends who works the Montgomery Co. Abandon/Stolen vehicle unit.

Yes, that really sucks. I'll keep an eye out in the Northern Virginia area if it makes its way back down here. Hope he is able to get it recovered in good shape.

I hope the "Low Lifes" get exactly what's coming to them. DC = District of Criminals or District of Corruption take your pick.

I think I saw your buddies car at BJ's car show when we met a year or so ago.

That sucks man. Hope you find her. Why did they steal it? I mean, was it like a "last minute" thing and needed a car or do you think they've had their eye on it for a while?

    Thanks guys.

I spoke to the detective tonight and a mustang was also stolen in my neighborhood that night. Most of thefts of this type are kids coming from DC to steel cars for joy riding.

My guess is the wheels attracted some attention. Don't know if they had spotted it before the night it was taken.

Thanks to everyone here who kept and eye out for my car.

Here's the story. Pretty much a cut and paste from what I posted on MAMN12.com.

I got the call from the detective yesterday at around 11:30 AM. He was at the scene in SE DC where my car was found. He have me a brief description of the damage. As we had previously discussed the car was not being taken to the DC impound yard but rather towed by the Arlington police back to their lot. He wanted their crime scene tech to go over the car and take fingerprints etc. This also saved me the expense and aggravation of dealing with the DC impound yard.

I met the detective and the techs at the lot around 6:00. They wanted me to identify each item found in the car to determine what was mine and what belonged to the thieves.

Item left behind by the thieves include:
    1 glass bottle of juice
1 empty bag of sunflower seads
    several sunflower seed shells
    2 butter knives
1 match (smells like they smoked in the car)
    1 half brick
    1 screw driver

They pretty much pulled everything out of my backpack, glove box, center console and left it strewn about the car.

Other than the damaged caused by steeling the car and stereo it doesn't look like they did much damage to the interior. There don't seems to be any drink spills, food stains, muddy footprints, torn seats, etc.

The steering column, stereo surround, gauge surround, console top/cup holder, and climate control were all damaged. My power steering fluid cap is missing.

The exterior damage was more extensive.

    * major curb rash on the left front wheel
    * nick and some other scrapes on the right rear wheel.
    * scrape on the front bumper
    * scrape on the rear bumper
    * various scrapes on the front and rear driver side fender lips
    * damage to the D/S door from pulling the lock
    * P/S rear corner light seems to be pushed in some

The major damage in on the passenger side.
    * large scrape along the door molding. It doesn't look like the door itself was damaged
    * the scrape continues to behind the door and the metal is dented in at this point. It looked like they side swiped something or some car.

There may be more damage but this is all I see so far.

There was also a Mustang stolen the same night from my street a few blocks away. It was recovered the same day from the same area. It is a Green 1994 Mustang.

Not sure yet how much of my stuff is missing. So far the following items are gone:

    SCT XCAL 2
    Actron Code Reader
2 Drag Radials mounted on 16" 89-93 SC wheels wheels
    Alpine head unit
