Hey All - Back In Germany!

Well, I've been back for about 2 weeks now but I spend the first week and a half touring Italy mostly.

Here's some pics of my car in Aviano (Yes it's dirty, it just traveled 700 miles in bad weather and through the amazing swiss alps! Handles like a champ!):

My car was broken into in Rome by a couple of punk kids who must have seen me put my valuables in my glove compartment and center console. I came out to find the back driver's side window smashed out and those two places opened and cleaned out (except for about $70 in cash.)

Glass scratched the door so I need a repainted door, a new window, and new trim. Doesn't that blow? Thank god for full coverage, USAA is paying for everything, my GPS, iPod, cellphone and all appropriate cables.

If anyone wants to call me I have a state-side number that routes to my skype on my laptop in my dorm room here. Just PM me for the number.

James, what kind of question is that to ask a retired LEO?

And no, I do not need a pic of the Annabelle House. Now if you make it to Berlin let me know?

James - Sorry about the mistake.
I think you are a bit out of line with your comment.
I remember meeting you in Greenville (2005) and thought you were fine upstanding young man.

Yes, the Marauder would be a nice Autobahn cruiser. Just remember that there is ALWAYS something faster out there and they WILL pass you.

Running the MM on some of the secondary roads usually posted at 100 KPH (62 MPH) might be even more fun. Definitely more twisties.

Congestion seems to have taken over many of the Autobahn sections today. When I was there initially in the mid-70s, most of the Autobahn was unlimited except for around the cities. Back then, there were absolutely NO junkers on the road. When I went back in the late-80's, I noticed a distinct change. First was the number of "marginal" cars on the road barely capable of maintaining minimum Autobahn speed. The number of unlimited speed sections had also expanded considerably so that most sections were limited to 130 kph or less (< 81 mph). It is changing all the time -- and I suspect that it hasn't gotten less congested since the day I left on 9 Nov 1989.

    Glad your doing well James.

Rome is what it is, and that can happen anywhere. In New Jersey they would have stolen your whole car.

Be safe, check in when you can and go ahead and get those pictures for Haggis .............................................. .(j/k)
