You pay your money, it's your car, put anything on it you like.

Personally I run 428CJ emblems on my 428CJ powered 67 Fairlane. The car didn't come that way, and I certainly wouldn't say my Fairlane was a Cobra Jet.

But if we're wearing emblems on our cars that indicate the car is something it's not, and someone says we are a posers...

You are only expressing your own true self image, and I don't think it matters if you put pink lace panties on it as long as thats your image, or the one you are comfortable with. (not mine)

It didn't go into the Continental until complete redo in '95. All Continentals '88-'94 had the POS 3.8L (many oil leaks, and blown head gaskets galore)

True it is your vehicle and you can do what you want with it badge wise, but it would be like sticking a Marauder emblem on a Mach 1 'cause they share the same engine. To me the vehicles are unique in their own way and to cross them is kind of..

Hey just remember the wise words from Ghostbusters..... Don't cross the streams.

I have the COBRA emblems on my Marauder because the engine is "Special".
It may not be an exact COBRA engine, but it IS close enough.
