Heater, A/C fan switch turns on system?

    Ok...
the fan switch on the dash that controls the air flow for the heater, A/C, and Vent went out...
Dealer replaced it under extended warantee ($100.00 deductable)...
Now you can turn the system off, using the "OFF" switch....
but if you touch the fan switch the system comes back on...?
    Dealer said that...
that's the way the system is suppose to work... I can't remember, but I don't think mine worked that way...
HOW DOES YOUR SYSTEM WORK... Can you turn the system off with the "OFF" switch and back on by just moving the fan switch?
Little stuff like this just drives me nuts...
    Thanks, Architect

I'll bet someone answers before I get to my MM this evening to drive home, but I'll report what happens anyway. I've never bumped the switch with the system off, so I don't know what happens, but now my curiosity is piqued.

Yep, that's the way it works in my GM. If system is off and you touch fan it turns on at the last temperature setting you had.

Yep, they've always been like that. Even in my aunt's old '98 LX CV, if you touched it off, and touched the fan control, it pops back on. All is well.
