well you would need a center console with the shifter,
you would want the plasic cover around the steering colum so there isnt a hole were the colum shifter was,
then i think you will have to get down a dirty and find the shifting linkage for the floor shift and make sure you can make it work on yours...

    sounds like a P.I.T.A.

I would think if the guy worked in a Ford parts shop...again, he'd have access to all the part numbers he'd need. Even if not, if can find a repair manual for the car, you should be able to find them. Regardless...you'll need to know what you need. If your column shift uses an electronic connection to the transmission for shifting just like the Marauder (which is likely), then it'll boil down to a shift cable, floor shifter, and console. Go to a Ford/Mercury dealer and ask them for part numbers. ...or hit your local bone yard and see if you can find a bashed Marauder. ...or search http://car-part.com to get a listing of stuff that might be in a junk yard w/in driving distance.

I know my local dealer would be pretty willing to give me the information if I ask for it (the guys at Roland Rich Ford in Delavan, IL are a great bunch).

It was also an option on the newer Crown Vics and you should be able to get those part# from your local dealership. They won't charge you to ask for a price and part#.
