Why would you want daytime running lights? I think that's one of the dumbest ideas ever invented.

The kit allow's your low beam's to opperate at 75% output when car is running, with no other lights on,and if you use you're autolamp you won't have to "remember" to turn you're light's on when it's getting dark,or raining, snowing, etc. and it's been prov'en to be safer.
Don't worry I don't think it will slow you down much...Think what you want,Ithink it's agood idea.

Uhh, if you turn your little headlight switch allllll the way to the left, it's an autolamp, and automatically comes on when it gets dusk out, and it shuts off 10 or 15 seconds after the car is off. Personally I see no need to have your lights on during snow/rain. And even so, just turn them on yourself, it's not that hard.

I don't have DRLs and would not personally add them to a car that does not have them. However, having your lights on during fog, snow, and rain allows others to see you which is for your safety. Also, if you come to New Jersey and it's raining, turning on your headlights is a law. That in itself is a reason to have your lights on.
I've using autolamp on car's before you were born!,I use it all the time on my MM & GM.And I would'nt go out on the road w/out my headlight "on" with any of my motorcycles.Hope no one pull's out in front of you in the rain or snow because they "did'nt see you".
It's just a safety issue,you just don't understand.

Thank you! Daytime running lights are for motorcycles - do not take their only defense. It cost me $233.00 to delete the DRL's on my 2006 Taurus, I had to replace the entire BCM. As a biker, I loathe DRL's on cars. Go to www.lightsout.org for some interesting facts about them.

Guess not, I agree with Badmerc though, use them on bikes ONLY. And too, you say DRL's are sooo safe, what about the moronic people who forget to turn the regular lights on at night time, so they have NO rear lights on, but just the stupid little tiny lights on in the front? Is that for safety too?

Raudermaster, Thunderace asked if anyone had installed DRLs...so far you've done nothing but badger him. If you can't help him with his question, then stay out of it.

One difference between the 2003 300A/300B and 300eh models is that every car in Canada must have DRLs installed. Before a car is imported from outside Canada, it must be fitted with them. Every 300eh has them.
So, no I haven't installed them, but they are factory installed on mine. It's been the law here for 20 years. I have a buddy that imports cars, and he wires in a $60 module on every car he imports. Takes less than 1/2 hour.
So, I have a question - at the risk of starting a flame war - if DRLs are good for the safety of motorcycles, why aren't they good for the safety of cars?
