Crane XRi ignition for old Fords, xxx!!

I know this is not MM related, but I thought I'd share my experience for those of you with older Fords. My dissatisfaction for this Crane ignition conversion for points systems came during the mechanical portion of the installation on my '68 LTD 390. The replacement points plate, while a good concept, is not a quality design, resulting in both excessive play in one regard, and binding in another. I never had the car running with this system. A shame though, I like the ability to have a rev limiter. I could design some enhanced parts, but time is always short. So I will exchange for a Pertronix system, which I have very good experience with.

Same here Tom, the Pertronix system seems the best so far, I'm using MSD's 6AL box with 4 different rev control modules.
Keep your box away from heat, mines in the Marauder's glovebox, which isn't good for much else anyway.
