Help! Naake mounting bracket question.
So the last time my car was on a lift, I found that I had two leaking shocks... So I figured I'd bite the bullet and order the complete Naake front and rear kit (single adjustable.) I called them and put in my order. They said it would take a week to fabricate all the parts.
About an hour later, Naake called me back, and said they needed to know 1) the width of the stock mounting bracket, and 2) whether the mounting bracket bolt was metric or British. I went to the local Ford dealer to ask, and they looked puzzled. They found out my 04 Marauder had a build date of 11/04/2003, which they said would have been in the "early '04" range. They said there was no way to find the info I needed without tearing the whole back end out of the car though, because it's all welded to the axle or something. I put the guy from Naake on the phone with the Ford guy, but when he hung up, he said he didn't see how to find that information out easily.
I've searched this site, and I see a lot of people have the Naake setup, but I didn't see anyone discussing this issue. Does anyone have any insight? I know some car basics, but I am not a mechanic. Shouldn't the build date give Naake the information they need? Or are the guys at the Ford dealer just incompetent? The Marauder is my only vehicle, so tearing it apart just to find out what parts to order is not an option.
Thanks so much!
