My wifes MM had the same problem and now mine is having it as well. If I remember correctly it is the control module for the A/C, heater malfunctioning. I know others have had the same problems as well. I have yet to get mine fixed.

Common problem. O-rings in the EATC (climate control) module harden and shrink,
causing a vacuum leak. Defrost is the default position. Fix is not all that diffucult.
