    Question surging?

ok i have an 04 marauder and recently it started to ping at wide open it has a trilogy on it at was well so you know. When I am stopped at a light it runs rough and surges I have tried differant brands of gas the highest here is 91 that i found so far. I have an xcal 2 that I am going to reprogram soon so I can get rid of the plug in chip that came with the trilogy in case I want to add stuff later. But before the new tune I want to fix the idle problem I am thinking IAC perhaps any other ideas would be helpfull. thanks.

    MY SWAG WOULD BE,

the air filter may be over oiled, if you have such, and the MAF sensor wire got coated. Clean the MAF with the appropriate product.

Another possibility is a vacumn hose leak.

Spark plug(s), COP/associated conductor is also a possibility.

    clogged throttle body ports.

    Regards,

Pinging at wide open will ventilate the block.

Get an updated tune to pull some timing.

Maybe clean or replace the IAC valve, as well as cleaning the MAF will help the surging.

Cats don't "clog up" unless you engine is in terrible shape.....VERY RICH or burning A LOT of oil!!

I suspect IAC out of whack!!

54000 for the mileage cleaned the iac seems better now just a little rough still at idle though, is the IAC supposed to be open still after it is off the car was wondering as mine is open just a little when i removed it to clean.
