in the 4th pic, the tranny linkage is awfully close to the header ( will def burn from radiant heat). and in the 5th pic, I had the shop weld some brackets to hold that X-pipe together. vibrations may slowly cause a leak in that area. let me see if I have some pics.

here ya go, those triangular looking plates were welded in four places along the X-pipe . I also put some heat sleeves on the tranny lines and tranny linkage.

I am MOST definitely going to put a heat sleeve on the tranny lines and tranny linkage. I didnt think about that..Thanks for the advice. I am going to go back to KOOKS and see if they can weld me some brackets. BETTER be safe then SORRY..!

What do you have sprayed on the X-Pipe..?

since we flanged a few areas for install, I sprayed hi-temp paint on the welds, then got carried away and sprayed just about everywhere. here's a pic of the heat sleeves

and the flange just forward of the muffler.

AWSOME…! I really appreciate the picks and advice.

I am MOST definitely going to do some investigating into getting the X pipe mounted up a little better for LONG TERM SAFETY..
Where can I order the heat shield wrapping..
Thanks again.. O and get some Spin Techs on there if you want it louder….! Trust me its well worth it…!

I think the heat sleeve was from summit racing. 3/4 or 1" diameter.
try to use metal tie wraps for durability, but plastic should also work fine.
I do like the quality of the Kooks system. no leaks whatsoever. they are staying with the car. stage 8 locking bolts too, so it's too much of a pain to remove anyway.

I don't think I want it any louder, and those spin techs look funny. lol.
