    exhaust heat shielding melted

The heat shielding above my driver side catalytic converter came loose and was sitting on the cat. It's melted through the black materail and the white innards are starting to melt. Great fun with a possible fire hazard with a 32 mile commute. Has anyone else had this same problem? Does anyone possibly know the name of this piece so that I can properly describe it to my local dumbass parts guy without totally pulling it out and dropping it on his counter. Also I have not yet crawled under her to take a look at this but is it a single piece that crosses over the entire underside of the car from the drivers side to the passenger side?
If the part is 2 expensive then I'll get some self adhesive heat shielding such as the stuff made by DEI good for up 1725 F. Has anyone used this?

I just got the new shields, they are cheap .
Just go to the local FLM dealer and ask for the part.
