    Question Mercury emblem on grill.

    Does anyone know how you
    get to/remove the front
    Mercury emblem from the grill?
    Thanks.

There is a 10mm bolt right in the center.

Best method is to take a 10mm socket, using just your hand not enough room for a socket wrench, reach from under the front bumper and loosen. (Lefty loosey, righty tighty )

    Should come right off.

Keep in mind...the grill will NOT be "clean". There is a section of the grill in the center for the badge. If you want the "clean-look"...call Zack and he can do this for you...

Or you can take the shroud off by removing the three speed fasteners and reach right down to the nut (it's not a bolt -- be gentle the badge is plastic and can only be replaced with a whole new grill!!). Crawling on the floor is best left to TAFfy!

I just called for a price quote on the grille today - dealer said $170.70.

Could someone post/send me the website/part number to do this on my own?

Thanks - dealers are just too expensive!

I removed the "zit" from the front of my grill. basically you have to take the entire grill out, fill the cavity front and back where the zit was (JB Weld works really well for this) machine the vertical grooves and sand flush the front and back. primer, paint clear coat.

i think it looks much cleaner and better in my opinion.

best of luck PM for detail if you need.
