    Nitto 420s!

aight yall, the 255/55/18's. Ive seen em once, my dumbass didnt look twice. Those who have these and those who have taken a good look at em'. As far a size how are they compared to the BFG's? thats all im really concerned about. Ive heard enough good thinks about how they perform, im just concerned about the size. 255/55/18, thats a damn truck tire. i know i could just look at all the conversion tables and see mathmatically what the size diffrence is, but im really only concerned with how they look.

Plan'n on orderng these wed. Whatchall think?

IMO, I think you'll find very little difference in height between brands, and about an inch or so between the OEM BFG's and a 255/55/18. If you want to check out tire pics, try out the following links:

    http://www.discounttire.com

    http://www.eastcoasttire.com/shop/index.htm

    http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp

You can enter the brand, size, etc, and get a visual of the tire; usually from a couple of angles. Key thing you want to look for is proper speed rating, V or Z, less than that and you're asking for trouble. Nitto, Hankook, Falken, General, Goodyear all make good replacements for the OEMs.

I'm glad this thread is around because I need new rear tires and didn't find out until recently that our factory ones are on back order again.

The difference is negligible. It's only about .4 inches (loaded) taller and less than .4 inches wider.

Great tire! I have no handling issues. My speedo is spot on, radar checked. Buy them, you won't regret it.

Does anyone know if these tires are ok in snow? They looks pretty bad for the snow. I just might need a set soon and my truck won't be back for a week or so. Thoughts? Experiences?

Out of all things, why do our car tires have to be sooo difficult! I'm dreading the day I have to get em'. I'd like to keep what came from the factory, at least till I widen the rears.

    I am using the

    Nitto 404

Lots of soft rubber, and a great ride height

285/50/18 its flippin perfect and will fit on an 8 inch rim
I have them on my widened rims
I have driven on them for over a year, done a few burnouts, and they are still in very good shape, GREAT traction.

Nitto alludes to it being capable of snow handling (from nittotire.com's 420s technology section: "Siping was designed to provide a biting edge for all season traction"), but I would guess that they're not a very capable all season tire, if at all.

I believe you are asking for a wrecked MM using 420s in the snow.
