To Borla or not to Borla?

So i was digging through the garage today and i found 2 Borla TurboXL Mufflers with mounting brackets and a U bend for the Impala SS that i got for $45 bucks at the last Chevy Meet i went to(i figured i could sell them) so today my friend came down from upstate NY for a visit and he was looking for some exhaust stuff for his car and i told him i had the Borlas and id just give them to him...
Then i saw a Marauder staring at me saying....rly?
Question is do i install them right where the stock mufflers were and thats it? or do i take 2 rear cats out?(will i pass emissions?) or do i say forget it and give them to my friend?

    What do you guys think?
Im ordering my Intake as soon as i post this and a nice fellow on here is sending me a Xcal2 and Zach tune once we get the transaction organized

    Thoughts...?

I don't know for certain, but I would expect the borla's to flow more cfm than our stock mufflers. Verify and then do it, since you already own them. Stock pipes are 2.25" dia. Many folks here delete the second cats, others, like me, have all four oem cats removed and replaced with a pair of magnaflow hi-flow cats, some with an ex-pipe and some with h-pipe.

I'm sure Borla on an MM would sound awesome.

Removing 2nd set of cats wont stop your car from passing emissions.

stock front pipes are 2" and then flare up to the 2.25" stock mufflers. Huge CFM mufflers are only going to help so much with 2" pipes being the limiting factor. On a stock engine the 2" pipes are probably not an issue yet though.

It will definitely be a bit louder. You will notice a difference in sound once they are installed.

No it will sound more muscle car! It will give it more of a bassy rumble.

I simply replaced the OEM mufflers with Borlas and love the rumble but it's just not quite loud enough for me. I still plan to get delete tips. I hope that gets me what I want.
