Headed back to the Sunny South this morning.

Was great to hang out with the Chicago gang again, but it's always good to go home.

The ship was forward deployed to Japan for the past 12 years.

    a) they forgot how to sail it

    b) they were on the wrong side of the sea

Took care of the lawn and cleaning the car after work yesterday. Will ICE it down before heading up to Gettysburg to meet with the gang for Maibock at ABC. Didn't want to have too much to do this morning before rolling out on the road.

Wheels roll in about an hour.

Desmond Hatchett of Knoxville, Tenn., doesn't deny fathering 30 children, by 11 mothers no less -- instead, he's pleading with the state to help him out with child support.
Holding a minimum wage job, Hatchett already gives half his pay to the children's mothers but because he has a minimum wage job some moms get just $1.49 a month in support.

Hmmm....I pay $1,500.00 a month, I must be doing it wrong.

Holy ****! I don't remember hearing about this.

At one point, the penetration into the Chamber of Commerce was so complete that a Chamber thermostat was communicating with a computer in China. Another time, chamber employees were surprised to see one of their printers printing in Chinese.

The same year, a Chinese spy at Ford Motor Company downloaded thousands of files on hybrid engine design and gave them to the Chinese government, and a cyber attack traced to China allegedly stole design secrets to a U.S. stealth fighter jet.

Signs here at the yard say the Ford is considered 75% erected. (yeah, yeah, TWSS)
That is just a better sounding version of "The Ford is about 40% built."

"It's also been designed to require 800 fewer sailors to operate the ship and for 400 fewer personnel to embark with an air wing on the ship."

Well, we've had 'pilotless' planes in the AF for awhile now...think we'll have our first 'captainless' aircraft carrier (loaded with pilotless planes) by 2025? The generation that's currently playing MW3 and all those other video games may be the ones to command such vessels/aircraft?

The Terminator movies don't seem as far-fetched now as they did when they first came out.

All that means is less people to do maintenance. Less people onboard = a quicker return to the yard for repairs which = more job security for me.

Casey/Rex; Bears vs. Packers Sep 13th

We're supposed to be at Gingerman Raceway from 4:30pm til dark. Sunset this day will be at 757pm...kickoff is at 820pm. The game is on NFL network, so will need to find a place that has NFL network.

Looks like the raceway is about 10 mins from Hotel. Found a place called the Thirsty Perch about 5 mins from hotel (15 mins from racetrack).

    What we gonna do?

I know there's still 3+ months to think about this...
