I want to install the door sills but in the northeast I'm afraid to install in this cold weather incase they won't stick. Should I wait for warmer weather or put them on now?

Take them off and bring them in the house to warm up for a day. Use plenty of Dawn dish soap and a soft bristle brush to clean them, Dawn will get rid of all the grease, oil, etc. Dry them off. I used some rubbing alcohol and wiped them down to make sure everything is really really clean. I used 3M molding tape to stick mine on.

What Jim said...by take them off he means the OEM plastic ones now on the car, they will pull right off; so that both original and new pieces are warm. Dennis

I'd wait for warmer weather. Or remove the parts, bring them inside, let them warm up, then apply the sill covers. Wait until the sill covers are stuck on good, then go put the parts back on the car.

I put mine on about 2 weeks ago while the car was in the garage about 43 degrees. I used alcohol to wipe the plastic off and some pressure and mine stick fine.

I got mine 2nd hand. Yes, I did have to remove the original tape. Goof Off works wonders. I use 3M molding tape and completely covered the back of the sills. If you do that AND follow my instructions to clean the factory sills you shouldn't have a problem.Did you remove the original stick tape (looks like insufficient coverage across the back of the aluminum sills) that was attached to the sills?

I gave them a good pull and they didn't budge. I was afraid to pull too severely as I don't want to break them. Are people prying them up with a pry bar or pulling them loose by hand. And from what end/angle?
