Thread: Custom exhaust, what fits, what doesn't??

  1. #1

Question Custom exhaust, what fits, what doesn't??

I've been searching and haven't seen much besides 100% custom setups, or the SW/Kooks setups. Is there any other way out there???

I'm definately not paying almost $2k for headers and an h-pipe, but I also don't want the hastle of coming up with a totally 1 off custom exhaust system.

So are there any stang setups that come CLOSE to fitting the car? Even if they're shorty or equal length, that's fine, better clearance anyway.

If I could get a reasonable mustang exhaust setup and then just customize the back of the H-pipe to fit the stock MM cat-back that'd be AWESOME!!

I have access to a free set of long tubes too, but they're off a 98(?) Mustang GT 4.6, will they work or no? Probably not but it was worth a shot...

Yep. Pay up front for the kit that fits and works, or pay later for somebody to custom build it for you and hope for the best.

I agree with the above statements if you want results go with something that is proven. If you want to gamble go to Vegas.

Yep. I can speak for the Kooks myself. I have over 150,000 miles on them and they still look and work great. Quite a bit different than those old 20,000 mile Hookers.

Swap the manifolds for Cobra units and the x pipes will fit with about a 4" extension welded on.....

    Then custome from there back.

I did that in "round 1" of exhaust modes and got away with spending about $1200.00
