    LincMercLover's blacked out rims

I noticed that your rims are somewhat blacked out. One pic shows them to be all blacked out and the other shows the center and edge of the rim to be lighter. I like the blacked out idea. What was the procedure?

Those aren't his rims! he stole them from Cruztaker. Sneaky little bastage that he is!!!

Just so you know, you are looking at a picture of Barry's (Cruztaker) car not LML.

The pic was probably taken by LML.

LML took the oic you saw. I had the wheels powder coated the day before Ennis and have not had time to take nor post pics. I had hoped that one of the several people who took pics would post them. I will wait for the rain to go bye-bye and post pics this weekend.

    Damnnnn Bunny! Nice photo!
I think I will cut and paste it into my personal gallery. Thanks!

    To answer quickly:

I went to my local wheel refinishing/repairing company that services the dealers in my area. I paid to have the wheels powder coated. There was an additional fee to have the ENTIRE wheel done inside out. There was also an additional fee to have the outer rim edge polished. Total cost per wheel was $275.
I am pleased, and I like the new attention in having something different.

I love this look, and I said so in Maraudeville. Barry, I will be in touch with you on this. This is how I want my Marauder to be seen by the spectators...

    Geo,
You're right that there are two different versions. Cruztaker has the ones with the polished lip. Mine are totally black. More pics are posted somewhere, search for "powdercoated wheels". I believe I like the polished lip better, thanks for the instructions on how it was done, Cruz. I might get mine done that way too. Or maybe I'll swap back to my polished rims. Or maybe I need to get another set and do them like yours so I can have three different looks for the car. I'm so confused.

The 'lifetime' caliper painting product from Eastwood Co.

Besides me dinging two spots while changing wheels, this stuff is hard as nails, and washes up easily.

    Barry,
email me at bsipe@utk.edu with your contact info. It'll be nice to get more details on stripping the powdercoating off the lips and polishing them. One possible problem is I used the unpolished spares instead of the original polished rims so there may be more work involved in getting them smooth and polished.

There is a set of wheels for sale in the Parts for Sale link on this site. They only have 2000 miles on them. They will be great for having two sets. He will ship anywhere.
