    Gaskets and hardware.

What do you guys recommend for header gaskets and hardware? I recently used the Percy's SEAL-4 -GOOD (http://www.percyshp.com/seal4good.htm) on my collector gaskets. Got rid of the nice ticking below the passenger seat, but I still have a couple of leaks on the passenger side header gasket. I tracked them down with my stethescope just to make sure I was chasing the right thing, plus I can feel a little air where the leaks are.

I thought I might try the Percy's for the headers also but wanted to know what people thought of them or if there was anything that anyone would recommend or tell me to stay away from.

I am also going to look at the Percy's split lock locking header bolts (http://www.percyshp.com/splitlock_page.htm). Just looking for some feedback of info, thanks.

I have a tick that's annoying the hell out of me. I just brought a set of ford factory gaskets.
I hope this will fix my problem.

Gaskets I have probably can't be reused, plus all of the hardware is fairly rusty. This car has a little over 60k.

I was looking at the Dorman OE replacement hardware kit but I was wondering if it would be worth going to the Percy's, Grade 8, or ARP kits because of the locks.

Doom same here the tick is driving me crazy. I heard about the Percy's from a guy I work with and he installed them on his sons camaro a couple years ago and has resused them about 3-4 times. The collector gaskets have been on and off about 20 times he says and still seal like new.

i would just go with factory man. its known to work.

ps my car had 53k on it when i put the headers on

I guess that is what i will try then. I'll get new factory hardware also because it looks like I wouldn't be able to access the set screw in the Percy's bolts around the headers, plus I am not sure about the locking retainers for the Grade 8 brand bolts.

My car has over 115k and I'm still using the original studs, nuts, and gaskets. Been off & on more times than I care to count. For collector gaskets I use Mr Gasket Ultra-Seal. If you put them on and tighten the bolts really good they won't leak or blow, but they usually crumble when you disassemble so they're normally not re-useable.

I'm just going to order the gaskets from the local dealer and get the bolts from Summit when I order a couple other things. I don't want to reuse the hardware on there. The Dorman OEs were only $10 for 10 studs and nuts on Summit.

Stay clear of Percey splits. They are not a good idea with aluminum heads. The stange 8 are a PITA. Use OEM exhaust gaskets & hardware or new ARP bolts. I also used Loctite 246 or item #29513 after calling loctite & explaining the application. In addition I used stainless steel ball flanges.

The car already had the headers so I am stuck with the 2.5" collector flange, I'm going to stick to the Percy's here and just get some better hardware. The local LM dealer will have or be able to get the stock manifold gaskets for me. The Dorman hardware is a OE replacement kit so no worries about the hardware.
