Both were good deals in my book, Miller's having a longer wait time (which passed okay because we like to stand around and chat) but more variety and better table service.

The prices were appropriate for the kinds of food each had and both were a great value - especially for the hungry types and those putting hot bacon dressing on EVERYTHING!! I can't believe the number of people served simultaneously at Shady Maple! Miller's was more like home cooking. Great mashed potatoes and prime rib. I agree the table service was better at Miller's. In either place, if you went home hungry, it was your own fault!!

Talking Taste great vs. less filling?

Kind of like the old beer ad. Each restaurant has its own charm. Millers food is a "cut" above, while Shady Maple has a bigger selection

Mac: It was "fun" chatting with everyone in the lobby area.

I personally liked Shady Maple because I have never seen a buffet nearly one acre in sheer size. The sign on the door said max. occupance of like 2000!!! Millers was more down home...and had a nice area to put down some brewsky's....in the field on the hood of the MM!

Since we did not get to eat at Miller's, just think by the time you all were sitting down to eat we were home. It would have been nice to stay and chat some more, but sometimes you have to call it quits. There is always next time
