Why? There's no sense in revving past 7k. Most of them stop producing power between 6200-6500.

To answer your ?, the only one I know of that has changed gauges is John (TMF) in his ProRauder.

Just curious to see what others have done. With the Ported Intake should be around 6500-6700 hoping any how. But there are some with the GT CAM (4.6) setting there's to around 7100-7200rpm.

If you spin the motor up past 7 grand, you won't need a tach.

Didn't somebody try raising their rev limiter and shift points so it would rev close to 7k? They discovered that the PCM is too busy with the engine at that speed and it loses track of the transmission shifting, causing blown engines and/or transmissions? Seems like something like that happened, maybe to a CAM member?

I remember the same thread...I questioned if that was really true, but never got a response.
Hard for me to fathom that a modern computer processor could be overloaded by engine functions just because you've gone from 6,800 rpm to 7,000 rpm...

I agree with the 7,000 rpm redline being 'more show than go'...you would need the 'Naz' intake and GT cams to make real use of 7,000 rpm in our cars.

Getting back to your original question...you could 'Rice it out' and mount a HUGE tach on the dash with a gigantic shift light....right next to the fire extinguisher on the 'A' pillar.
I'd throw a few TYPE 'R', APC racing, and some Akimoto stickers on to help get her over 7,000 rpm.

Some bolt-on ground effects goodies and a pair of carbon fiber exhaust tips will help as well...

Seems to me I remember Zack running 7K or close to it. I know my car was still making power at 6250rpm and I plan on moving the limiter over...

This is where I was thinking......it would be nice but didn't know if anyone's done it. I am have my intake ported to match the heads with the FRPP GT Cams so may raise the rpm range by 500 or so......the lidio tune is set to 6250 so....getting close.

NICE I think I'll do that good for 100rwhp! I really like the BIG TACH right on the steering column look and the fire extinguisher on the pillar is also an indicator you are packing some serious heat.

Have you put in on the dyno to see? I had a guy in a 98 cobra with the GT Cams show me his numbers and he still made peak at 6650 before it drop off. I think he only had a ported intake and the GT cams. With a NAZ PSRI it would be close to 7k I would think?

Your engine might like to spin at high rpm's but your transmission will not like it according to Darrin.
