Wipers and washer fluid going on thier own

So I followed advice of members here. Thier thinking was along my lines, I had just washed the car, then 1 minute later the wiper starting going on thier own, then the washers started spraying on thier own. So I went after the wiper control module located right on the wiper motor.

I removed the wiper cowl and wiper motor and trans, removed the module from the motor and cleaned with electical contact cleaner, and ran a small bead of RTV around the edge of the module case in hopes of keeping water from getting in, cause it did, not much junk buildup on the module, but did have water sitting around the connector and motor area.

Anyways, threw it all back together, reinstalled wiper motor fuse (7.5 amp under steering wheel) and plugged back in the washer pump, 3 minuted later they started on thier own again.

I callled the local FOMOCO and priced the module, not available seperate from wiper motor.

So its $160 + tax I guess unless anyone has any other ideas.

    Guys???

Seems to be a common problem.
    Check with Big Dog Jim.
He had a similar issue with his wipers.

When I had wacky wipers (but not wacky washer) on the 2003 MM under ESP the dealership replaced the wiper motor and some kind of newer wiring assembly that was associated with the wiper motor. Sorry my memory is so vague. I have the paperwork somewhere, but cannot find it easily.

I am on my 3rd wiper motor due to the wacky wiper Gremlins. All covered under warranty. Haven't had a reoccurrence in the past 2 years. Problem is with debris plugging the drain hole below the wiper motor .... dayum tree crap.

There is a TSB out on this ... Wiper motor and pigtail/wiring was replaced under TSB 05-04-09. The drain hole should be enlarged some to reduce the possibility of clogging. Parts listed below. Hope you can find a good deal.

Nope. That's the way mine started the first time. The wipers went on and the washer just kept pumping fluid til it was empty. A woman behind me in a VW Passat got really PO'd 'cause she thought I was squirting her car on purpose. For a minute, I thought she was gonna blow a gasket.
